过明十三陵之首陵—长陵之后；沿路前往明献陵。献陵的营建是在仁宗死后开始的。仁宗临终曾遗诏：“朕既临御日浅，恩泽未浃于民，不忍重劳，山陵制度务从俭约。”<br><br>

宣宗朱瞻基即位后，遵照仁宗遗诏营建献陵。他召尚书蹇义、夏原吉至皇宫，对他们说，国家以四海之富葬其亲，岂惜劳费？然古之圣帝明王皆从俭制。作为孝子也只是想使亲人体魄永久保存，并不想厚葬。秦、汉时期厚葬的弊病，足为明戒。<br><br>

建成后的献陵，陵寝制度确实比较俭朴。其神道从长陵神道北五空桥北分出，长约1公里。途中建有单空石桥一座。路面为中铺城砖，两侧墁碎石为散水，十分俭朴，并且没有单独设置石像生、碑亭（现存碑亭为嘉靖年间增建）等建筑。<br><br>

明献陵还有一个特点，这就是祾恩殿和方城明楼在院落上彼此不相连属。前面以祾恩殿为主，建有一进院落，殿前左右建两庑配殿和神帛炉。院的正门，是祾恩门，也即陵园的大门，门前出大月台，院后设单座门一道。后面以宝城、明楼为主，前出一进院落。院内建两柱棂星门、石供案。院门为三座单檐歇山顶的琉璃花门。二院之间，隔一座小土山。那么，选择中隔小山这种布局的原因是什么呢？原来，这与陵园的风水有关。<br><br>

献陵宝城前的这座小山，名为玉案山，它从陵园左侧延伸而来，是献陵的龙砂。因其屈曲环抱陵前，所以，又是献陵的近案。风水中，“龙喜出身长远，砂喜左右回旋”，“龙虎环抱，近案当前”，当论内明堂格局。献陵玉案山以及龙砂、虎砂和来山范围内的小格局，正是风水术士们的内明堂格局。所以，修建献陵时只在明堂范围之内修建了宝城、明楼和一进院落。而将举行祭祀仪式的梭恩殿修在了玉案山前。<br><br>

经过这样的经营设计，不仅解决了献陵明堂地域面积小，建不下宝城和前面两进院落的问题，维护了“龙砂不可损伤”的风水信条，而且使陵园山重水复、殿台参差，形成了人文景观与自然景观和谐统一的美。使几何形体陵园建筑在山、水、林木的映衬下，更加错落有致。这是迷信的封建帝王和风水术士们所不能预想的。<br><br>

墓主明仁宗朱高炽，成祖长子，洪武十一年（1378年）七月初一日生于安徽凤阳；二十八年（1395年）闰九月二十一日，册立为燕王世子。永乐二年（1404年）四月四日，立为皇太子；二十二年（1424年）八月十五日即皇帝位，次年改元洪熙。洪熙元年（1425年）五月十二日，逝于饮安殿，享年48岁。谥“敬天体道纯诚至德弘文钦武章圣达孝昭皇帝”。九月六日葬献陵。继续前行；下一站就是明庆陵·<br><br>

无法参观；
只能从历史文献中查找；
献陵经过修缮后已经开放了。
